The Expert Committee provides technical support for case assessment, research, publication review, professional forums and award evaluation. It is separate from the Association’s day-to-day administration.

Committee responsibilities
- Engineering case assessment
Examine project context, methods, construction organisation, quality controls and lessons learned to support professional exchange.
- Research and publication review
Review study scope, methods, sources and interim outputs, with particular attention to the link between evidence and conclusions.
- Forums and professional exchange
Contribute to programme topics, technical presentations and interdisciplinary discussion of engineering practice and research.
- Award evaluation
Assess submissions under the rules of the relevant award, participate in deliberations and record opinions, subject to confidentiality and conflict controls.
