Association introduction
The Asian Urban Construction Engineering Association (AUCEA) brings together engineering organisations and professionals working on urban buildings, infrastructure and construction management across Asia. Its technical focus includes construction quality, green building, urban renewal and infrastructure resilience.
Vietnamese cities provide an important context for this work: dense construction sites, wet-season drainage, refurbishment of occupied buildings and the transition from construction to operation. Project reviews examine the conditions behind engineering decisions, how work was coordinated and what was learned during delivery.
The Association connects these practical records with expert review and applied research. Project accounts and research publications focus on methods, supporting evidence and conditions of use, making experience from one project useful to other engineering teams.

Development history
Association established
The organisational structure, Secretariat and charter were established, and the first Executive Council meeting was held.
Membership framework
The first application round opened, the first members were registered and professional services were defined.
Expert Committee established
Technical-review, conflict-of-interest and professional-record procedures were established.
Project experience exchange
The first urban-building and infrastructure cases were compiled, and project-record review began operating.
Research programme developed
The Research Centre and joint-research arrangements were established, including research on urban-building quality.
White papers and technology transfer
White papers, research on regulations and standards, and regional engineering exchange joined the programme.
First forum and awards
The first annual forum was held and the first Asian Urban Construction Excellence Award results were announced.
Continued research and exchange
Annual plans continued the forum, award assessments, member-record updates and calls for research proposals.
Areas of work
Engineering practice
Project reviews address construction conditions, material control, technical interfaces and handover.
Expert review
Specialists examine project evidence, methods and research findings within their disciplines.
Applied research
Research covers urban resilience, green refurbishment, construction quality and the use of technical standards.
Professional exchange
The annual forum brings project experience and research findings into discussion; the awards recognise documented engineering practice.
